The DT Swiss ARC 1400 Dicut® 80 carbon rear wheel for road bikes with rim brakes convinces with a perfect mix of acceleration, aerodynamics and handling!

The ARC 1400 system wheel with AERO rim profile also stands out for its modified Dicut® hub. In close cooperation with the aero experts at SWISS SIDE, it was possible to achieve lower wind sensitivity in crosswinds as well as to improve the overall aerodynamics of the wheel. In moderate crosswinds, you benefit from acceleration through the sail effect as well as a stable aerodynamic position with full control over your bike.

The 80mm deep rim is virtually predestined for flat and fast courses at triathlon and time trial events. High stiffness values and the wheel’s low weight impress pros and ambitious amateur cyclists alike – in fact, all those who like to ride fast.
Rounding off the first-class design of this carbon wheel are the high-quality DT Swiss aero spokes and the lightweight 240 Dicut® aero hub with an updated hub flange and the weight-reduced Ratchet EXP freewheel system for a direct drive. Excellent tubeless compatibility provides less weight, improved puncture resistance, lower rolling resistance and more comfort when equipped with tubeless tyres.

• RATCHET EXP SYSTEM:
Thanks to the integration of star ratchet and thread ring, this is currently the lightest ratchet freewheel system from DT Swiss. The start ratchets for the Ratchet EXP system have 36 or 54 teeth for a particularly small engagement angle. The system stands out for high reliability thanks to the simultaneous meshing of the teeth, which leads to significantly lower point loads. The no-tool concept allows easy maintenance and tool-free conversion to common axle and freehub body standards.


• TUBELESS:
All DT Swiss wheels are tubeless ready. The profiles of the DT Swiss rims are specially designed for tubeless use. The rim profile makes it easier to fit the right tyre and ensures a perfect fit. The tubeless system of the rim consists of DT Swiss tubeless ready tape for sealing and a DT Swiss tubeless valve in a length that complies with the rim. When using tubeless ready tyres, a compatible sealant must be used. However, it is also possible to use a conventional combination of tyre and inner tube.

• BEARINGS:
Having learned from years of experience, DT Swiss only uses durable cartridge bearings without bearing play adjustment. DT Swiss hubs are designed to have the optimum axial and radial bearing play when they are properly installed. The correct preload of the bearings to compensate for the clamping force of the wheel mounting system is the basis for a play-free hub with minimum friction.
