    Garmin Vector 2S pedal-based power meter

    For cycling, the power is the direct and objective measure of your cycling performance, as it is – unlike the heart rate – independent of external factors like nutrition, stress, fatigue, heat or cold. Using a power meter like Vector 2S allows you to precisely measure the intensity of your training and perform power-based training. The concept behind the Vector 2S system is simple, yet effective: it measures your power output at the pedal, where force is applied. Vector measures the slight deflection of the pedal spindle through your entire pedal stroke and by comparing that measured deflection to a factory-calibration, Vector can determine how much force you’re applying to the pedal. It measures a few hundred times per second. At the Vector 2S, the measuring electronics are only in the left pedal. If you also want to also measure the power from each leg independently of each other, the balance between your right and left leg (balance) or the total power, you can retrofit the right Vector pedal (item no. 2141505). Moreover, the Vector 2S measures your pedalling cadence using built-in accelerometers as well as numerous other data. Those can be displayed on compatible Garmin devices or other compatible, ANT+ compatible bike computers as well as on GarminConnect, the free online fitness community. As the Vector 2S power meter is pedal-based, you don’t have to convert other components such as the crank or the wheel. In this way, the installation is made in only a few minutes and it is also very easy to switch between the training or competition bike and a rental bike in the training camp.     The Rotor 2INpower crank-based power meter offers ambitious athletes and pros a dual-sided power measurement thanks to a combined strain gauge system in crank axle and right crank arm. Four strain gauges placed in the right crank arm and four in the crank axle independently measure left and right side power, analyse the values and transmit all data on power, cadence, balance, torque efficiency and pedal smoothness to the end device.     Rotor Flow INpower MAS compact crank powermeter

    The aerodynamic profile of the crank arms has been optimized for a smoother pedal stroke by taking into consideration the changing air flow starting at the axle and flowing through to the pedals. For this, spider and crank arms have been developed separately in the wind tunnel using the Computer Fluid Dynamics (CFD) design software to achieve best aerodynamics. Perfectly suitable for use on time trial, triathlon bikes and in competitions. Despite this special optimization, the stiffness coould be improved, too. The core of the INpower measurement technology centered in the crank axle to protect it from shocks and dirt and to offer accurate and reliable data transfer.     SRAM Red Quarq DZero Powermeter crank 2017

    The Sram Quarq DZero powermeter is based on the Red 22 crankarm and allows mounting chainrings with a bolt circle Ø of 110 mm. The DZero version combines 10 years of technical development from Quarq. With the DZero, parameters such as temperatures are considered as well. In this way, variations caused by heat or cold are eliminated to show performance data as realistic as possible.
