An innovative idea for mountain biking in difficult terrain: The tyre-within-a-tyre system allows you to ride with extremely low air pressure while being protected from punctures nevertheless. How does it work?
Schwalbe's PROCORE system distributes the air into two chambers. The PROCORE tube/liner tyre is inflated to a high pressure of 4 to 6 bars and the tubeless ready tyre (not included), which functions as an outer chamber, to 0.8 to 1.5 bars. The special valve supplied distributes the air into the two different chambers.
The advantages: 1. You benefit from excellent traction. 2. PROCORE turns your tyre into a responsive suspension system. 3. Control, baby! Increased traction and suspension give you more control over your bike. 4. Tyre and rim are protected from punctures and hard impacts. 5. Should you still somehow get a flat, you benefit from an emergency 'backup' thanks to the inner high-pressure chamber. 6. The inner air chamber eliminates the risk of tyre burping – the loss of air at low pressure you know from conventional tubeless systems. 7. You can fit lighter tyres, which is especially interesting for cycle races.
Requirements for installation:
• A tubeless ready MTB tyre
• A tyre width of at least 57 mm/2.25”
• An inner rim width of at least 23 mm
