The very robust and lightweight Shannon Hardcore seatpost is perfectly suitable for tough off-road use. Therefore, the 500 mm long seat post that is also suitable for tall riders is made of 7075 T6 aluminium. The hard and scratchproof anodized surface meets highest demands and thanks to special processing methods, the basic tube is milled to the desired dimensions precisely to 0,03 mm over the entire length. Thanks to a special clamp mechanism, the saddle height can be individually adjusted.

Für mein neues Granite Chief 2013 benötigte ich eine längere Sattelstütze, weil die Crank Brothers gerade mal 11,5 cm tief im XL-Rahmen steckte und Rose meinte, dass dies den Rahmen stressen könnte. Die Shannon Hardcore steckt nun über 20 cm tief im Sitzrohr und endet damit unterhalb des Oberrohrs - so wie es nach der Gebrauchsanweisung für Rosefahrräder sein soll. Das Problem: Die Sattelstütze lässt sich bei Bedarf nur noch ca. 6-7 cm absenken. Für technisches Terrain etwas wenig, aber dafür kann natürlich die Sattelstütze nichts. Hier wird sicher noch etwas Feintuning mit der Säge folgen 1 - 2 cm sollten noch drin sein. Ansonsten macht das Teil einen äußerst stabilen Eindruck. Das besonders dickwandige Rohr macht sich allerdings auch beim Gewicht bemerkbar. Die Konstruktion der Sattelklemme hat mich nicht überzeugt. Äußerst fummelig und umständlich - für mich ohne erkennbarem Vorteil gegenüber Sattelklemmen bei anderen Stützen. Aber für schwere, große Fahrer, die die Sattelstütze weit ausziehen müssen, sicherlich ohne echte Alternative.

Well the best seatpost that money can buy better than Thomson's elite.

BUT the seatpost was probably mounted on a bike before shipping to me.

It is the only down point, not very serious from Rose.

Die längste Sattelstütze, die ich gefunden habe. Sehr robust und optisch ansprechend. Auch nach intensiver jahrelanger Nutzung am MTB keine "Verschleiß-Spuren". Der Klemmmechanismus ist Geschmackssache, ich fand die Erstjustage relativ umständlich (vordere Schraube schwer zugänglich).
