Flexible Chain Locks for Bikes

Chain Locks – Bike Locks for Everyday Life

The solid and secure bike lock with high flexibility

The chain lock for your bike is characterised above all by its high flexibility, so that it can be attached to almost any object in everyday life. Although it is comparatively heavy, it also offers you increased safety for your bike.

What is a chain lock? How does a chain lock work?
The chain lock is a real classic among the bike locks. Thanks to the solid chain links, which are usually concealed in a weatherproof cover, the chain lock can withstand many stress tests. The cylinder head usually has a locking mechanism with an anti-picking lock. The freely movable chain links make the chain lock significantly more flexible than a folding lock. As the chain links are made of hardened metal and can also withstand bolt cutters, the chain lock is often more secure than a cable lock.

How long should the chain lock be?
How long your chain lock should be depends solely on what you want to secure your bike to. If you want to attach your bike to a lamppost, for example, chain locks with a length of over 100 cm are particularly recommended. The longer the bike lock, the more conveniently you can secure your bike to the object. Short locks are more suitable for securing a bike by placing the lock through the spokes and around the frame to prevent the bike from being ridden.

How do I transport my chain lock?
Most cyclists simply place the bike lock with chain around the seat post or handlebar while riding. Some models can also be worn as a waist belt and thus do not interfere with the bike.
