What is a folding lock? How does a folding lock work?
At first glance, the folding lock resembles a folding rule. The individual links can be folded to a compact size for easy storage and transport. This means you can simply unfold the lock and attach it around a lamp post, bike stand or frame. The hinge bolts are specially reinforced so that bolt cutters have difficulty cutting through the metal struts. Moreover, folding locks are insensitive to cold spray, resistant to bending and protected against knocks, cutting and sawing, thanks to their solid metal. Some lock cylinders also come with anti-picking or anti-drilling protection. The plastic or rubber casing protects your frame from scratches.

What length should the folding lock be?
Folding locks are available in different lengths, depending on what you want to attach your bike to. However, there are limits to the possible use: even the longest folding lock will not fit around a tree. If you want to chain your bike to a lamp post, for example, we recommend a length of 120 cm.

How do I transport my folding lock?
When folded, the folding lock fits into the cover on the bike frame, which is usually supplied. This means that you can transport your bike lock easily and rattle-free and always have it to hand to secure your bike in everyday life. If you find a holder on the frame disturbing, you can easily stow the folding lock in your backpack. With their compact format, folding locks are particularly easy to transport.
