Your guide to ride
The right ride for you
How fit are you?
It is important that you assess your fitness realistically. As a beginner, this may still be difficult. Start with an easy ride and check your physical fitness afterwards. This way you can gradually increase the difficulty.
Tip
Are you new to cycling or unsure? Then start with an easy tour. If you're already riding at 30 km/h and able to chat during it, you're ready for the tough rides.
Level of difficulty
We offer many rides, from social to fast forward. When you register, you can see the speed, route length and route conditions, such as gradients and surface, in the overview.

Your first ride
You don't need any experience to take part in a group ride. You are directly part of the Circle and we are happy to help you make it an enjoyable experience. Here you will find some helpful tips for a successful start.
A helmet is mandatory
Please bring your helmet – safety first.
Check-up before check-in
Please check your bike before the ride: Check the tyres and tyre pressure, brakes and braking force and, of course, the bolts. In case of any problems, please have your bike repaired before the ride.
Route guidance
You can download each route of our rides in advance. Please make sure that you have the current route on your mobile phone or bike computer so that you can find your own way back if it should become necessary.
Ride, eat, repeat
Cycling takes up energy. That’s why you should take energy in while riding. You need to bring your own provisions: It's best to come to the ride out with filled water bottles, bars and gels, then nothing should go wrong.
Layer up
Keep an eye on the weather outside and see if you're ready for it. A rain jacket in your jersey pocket is always a good idea in changeable weather. Overshoes help to keep your feet warm when it’s rainy or cold. A base layer forms the basis.
Lights on
Safety on the road is the most important thing. This includes a good vision and being visible for other road users. Should the weather be bad or the ride out take place at nightfall: Please bring along lights for your bike.

Riding in a group
Warning of dangers
The person riding behind you can’t see what you see. It is therefore important that you pass on signals from the front through the entire group. We warn each other of obstacles, potholes or oncoming traffic with hand signals and shouts. You can find all important hand signals hier.
Observe the traffic rules
It is safer and permitted under the German Road Traffic Regulations to ride two abreast if it does not obstruct traffic. You specify whether you want to ride in single or double file.
Cross junctions together
Don’t cross junctions on your own: If you are riding in front and the traffic lights are just about to turn red, please stop and wait for the next green phase so that everyone can cross the road together and then continue as a closed group.
Climb at your own pace
Please wait at the top until the last person has arrived. Before we continue, we give everyone a short rest.
Keep the opposite lane clear
Whether at junctions or roadsides: If we have to stop, we make sure that we keep the opposite lane clear so that nobody obstructs the oncoming traffic or is hit by a car.
