Details

This folding lock by AXA comes with 8 mm thick, movable links made from hardened steel. This allows you to flexibly use the lock and to secure your bike almost anywhere you like. It provides high resistance to attacks through cutting and pulling. Its thick coating protects the bike's paint. When riding, you can store it safely in the included holder that comes with a fixing strap for removal from the front. The holder can either be fixed at the bottle cage drilling with two bolts or to the frame of your bike with two rubberised velcro straps.

Ich habe keinerlei Probleme mit der Handhabung des Schlosses. Wenige Handgriffe und das Schloss ist sicher verstaut. Wofür ich allerdings Abzug gebe ist die Qualität des Schlüssels und dessen Schloss. Schlüssel geht erst nach mehrerem Hin und her wackeln rein. Wenn man das Schloss öffnet, dann bleibt der Schlüssel nicht schräg und rastet erst zurück, wenn das Schloss geschlossen wird. Manchmal muss man den Schlüssel erneut drehen, dann das Schloss schließen und dann den schlüssel wieder zurückdrehen. Mein altes Abus lief da 100 mal reibungsloser.

Schlosslänge und befestigung am Fahrrad völlig Problemlos. Das Bild ist etwas Irreführend: Die halterung ums schloss besteht aus 2 Plastikarmen, die mit knopf geschlossen werden. Hat bisher gut gehalten.

An sich ein super Schloss wie ich finde. Fast so flexibel wie ein normales Kabelschloss. Top!! Gewicht, Größe und Verarbeitung gut. Das große Manko ist die Halterung. Bereits im nicht am Fahrrad montierten Zustand ist das Schloss sehr schwierig aus der Halterung zu bekommen, geschweige denn schnell und einfach wieder in diese reinzubekommen. Wer Zeit und Geduld beim Abschließen und wieder Verstauen des Schlosses hat, ist dieses Schloss sehr zu empfehlen.

AXA's new 800 folding lock is an ingenious product: easy to use, does not hurt the painting, and besides it looks cool. I also like its holder very much, although have some difficulties with it sometimes. The holder is fairly stiff, so it takes practice to know how to put the lock back to its place. Also if you don't have an extra bottle holder mount to screw it to your bike, and want to fix it with the velcro straps, you need to know that it only works with larger diameters. Seatposts are not its native spot I must say. Or do as I did: use 2 large zip ties and fix it seamlessly anywhere. :)
