Schwalbe Glueless Patches for Aerothane Tube

Even though Schwalbe's Aerothane tubes offer good puncture protection, the Glueless Patches will keep you going in case of a defect. The self-adhesive patches repair small punctures and cuts in the tube – fast and easily. Using classic tube patches for butyl tubes is not recommended, because the adhesive (vulcanising fluid) does not adhere sufficiently to the Aerothane material (TPU).
The Schwalbe patches have been specially developed for repairing TPU tubes. After cleaning the damaged area, the patches are applied directly to the defective area. Schwalbe's TPU repair patches are thin and flexible. Therefore, they offer reliable adhesion to the Aerothane tube and secure sealing of the damaged area.

Tip:
Using cleaning alcohol in the area to be fixed improves the adhesion of the patch. Isopropyl alcohol wipes in small sachets are ideal for this.
For holes in the transition from the sidewall to the tread and for larger defects (max. 4 mm), two patches should be applied in an overlapping manner, as one patch does not expand evenly to the tube and can partially detach.

Note:
Schwalbe Glueless Patches are only suitable to a limited extent for conventional butyl tubes, as they do not create a secure, permanent bond with the tube surface. As an emergency option, however, the stickers are a welcome temporary solution on the road.
