The Schwalbe Racing Ralph Evolution in the Super Ground variety is part of the newest stage of development for Schwalbe’s Evolution Line mountain bike tyres.
With this tyre, the traditional German manufacturer is addressing the increasing demands of modern cross-country riders.
Schwalbe has given the Racing Ralph the “Super-Ground” casing that was specifically designed for the rear wheel on these types of routes. It comes with a three-layer carcass under the centre tread, as well as a chafer placed directly against the bead combine to offer additional protection against punctures and grinding at the rim. The proven SnakeSkin insert, providing excellent cut protection, isn’t just built into the side walls, but also along the entire surface.
In addition, Schwalbe has introduced a foldable bead core and improved tubeless mounting.
The Road Racer has long been Schwalbe’s versatile and fast XC-profile for the speed junkies among us. The countless gripping edges in the middle area bite into the ground and provide excellent traction and therefore outstanding propulsion. Stable shoulder knobs result in very good grip on slopes. In addition, the profile rolls silently and impresses with extremely low rolling resistance.
It doesn’t matter whether its a speedy XC-race, long Marathon competition, or epic Cross-Country tour – the tyre’s well-designed profile creates a fantastic combination of acceleration, curve handling, grip, rolling resistance and braking performance.
The ADDIX-Speed rubber compound rounds out the package, having been designed especially for XC uses, winning points for its low rolling resistance and high durability.
With the “Super-Ground” casing, the Racing Ralph offers very good puncture protection and is well-suited for long tours and demanding competitions.
