Highlights & Technologies:
AQUASEALZ MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY:
The hydrophilic (water-loving) solid polyurethane barrier membrane is not porous and therefore has no microscopic holes like a microporous hydrophobic (water-repellent) membrane. The membrane has a solid structure that prevents water from passing through the membrane. It’s breathable by absorbing and releasing sweat through the diffusion of water vapour molecules. The chemical structure of the membrane consists of hydrophilic groups that attract water vapour molecules. Driven by greater heat and water vapour density, the water vapour molecules move from one hydrophilic group to the next.
MERINO WOOL:
Compared to traditional wool, Merino offers a particularly fine fibre. Because of the extreme weather conditions merino sheep are exposed to in nature, the wool has strong thermoregulation properties and is capable of wicking moisture away from the body particularly fast. Thus, it creates a warm protective layer for the entire body, even when wet. In contrast to traditional wool, merino wool is not scratchy even when wet. Thus, merino is perfect as a next-to-skin layer. Yet, merino wool is also ideal for warm summer days since its high breathability has a cooling effect. Thanks to a natural sun protection factor, high comfort and fire resistance, merino wool is a very popular fibre.
