Continental is honouring this magnificent race with a special edition of its most advanced road bike tyres to date. 

And because the tyre specialists from Korbach not only know a thing or two about fast rubber compounds, but also attach great importance to aerodynamics, this set comes with two different tyres. The Aero 111 is the ideal front tyre. This is because aerodynamic improvements have a particularly significant effect at the front of the bike. Thanks to the distinctive cavities in the tread pattern, which delay the separation of airflow from the rim, the Aero 111 can cut through the air with less drag. This aerodynamic optimisation also improves steering stability in crosswinds. 

In addition to aerodynamics, the Aero 111 also scores highly in terms of rolling resistance and grip. It performs at the same high level as other tyres in the GP5000-TR series, with a clear focus on maximum speed. However, the tyre is not purely a competition tyre. Thanks to Vectran Breaker puncture protection, it can be used as an all-rounder that can help you achieve new personal best times.

The user-friendly tubeless-ready system of the Grand Prix 5000 S TR is specially designed for road cycling, easy to install and reliable. A revised bead reliably seals the tyre and provides a good fit on both hooked and hookless rims.
For the first installation, Continental recommends to use at least 30 ml of Conti RevoSealant (prod. code: 2255637) per tyre. Rotate the tyre or wheel afterwards to distribute the sealant all around. Then inflate the tyre to the maximum recommended pressure. You should check the pressure at regular intervals as well as before your first ride and inflate the tyre if necessary.

• BlackChili Compound
High grip and low rolling resistance are mutually exclusive. Combining both always requires a compromise. The composition of the well-known Black Chili Compound enables an optimally balanced ratio of stiffness and stability for a tyre with optimised rolling resistance that is also soft enough to offer maximum grip.

• Vectran™ Breaker puncture protection
We all want the best possible puncture protection. But no one wants to cycle around with significantly more weight. The Vectran™ Breaker puncture protection insert was inspired by the impressive tear resistance of spider silk and consists of a synthetically produced high-tech fibre made of liquid crystalline polymer (LCP), which offers enormous resistance. This fibre is finely and densely woven to create an extremely puncture-resistant layer that protects against cuts while adding hardly any weight.

• Lazer Grip (Grand Prix 5000 S TR only)
To increase grip in fast corners, Continental has given the Grand Prix 5000 S TR a Laser Grip tread pattern on the shoulders. This micro-tread structure is laser-cut into the rubber which makes the tyre good-natured and predictable while cornering.

• Active Comfort Technology (Grand Prix 5000 S TR only)
The technology integrated in the 3-layer structure of the tyre casing absorbs most of the vibrations and shocks directly where they occur. At the contact point from the tyre to the road. This "actively" increases comfort and improves the cycling experience.

• Vortex generators (Aero 111 only)
The aero-optimised tread design is obviously different: 48 small cavities are regularly distributed over the surface of the tyre. These so-called "vortex generators" control the turbulence on the surface of the front wheel. The result: A perfected storm that allows for the reduction of drag of the entire wheel-tyre system.
