Frame Locks for Bikes
Frame Locks – Basic Security for Your Bike
Simple anti-theft device for everyday use
The frame lock is often part of the basic equipment of a bicycle. The practical accessory protects your bike from thieves simply riding off with it. Matching plug-in chains, also known as extension chains, allow additional attachment to objects so that your bike cannot be carried away. The basic protection for everyday life!
What is a frame lock? How does a frame lock work?
A frame lock is a lock body that is attached directly to the frame. When closed, there is a metal bar between the spokes so that the wheel can no longer be moved. Thanks to the permanent attachment to the frame, you can park and secure your bike anywhere. An additional plug-in chain is selected to match the frame lock model. It is placed in a loop around an object (e.g. a lantern or a fence) and then inserted into the bolt. When the bike lock is secured with a chain, the chain is firmly attached to the lock and can no longer be removed. This allows you to secure your bike to the bike stand or other objects in everyday life and protect it from being carried away.
What should I consider when buying a frame lock?
Depending on the model, the key of the frame lock may or may not be removable when open. Please keep this in mind when choosing your frame lock. You should also consider whether you will need a plug-in chain before buying. Not all models can be combined with an insert chain.
How do I attach my frame lock?
Most frame locks already include everything you need to fit them. This allows you to screw your frame lock securely to the holes provided in the seat stay, if there are corresponding attachments. If not, there are frame locks with strap mounting.
